Support My Fundraiser for ROMP!

Why I Climb

Climbing for ROMP was established in 2015 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). It has since become a global movement, highlighting the importance of access to prosthetic care and the international significance of legislation protecting rights for those with disabilities. They use "climb" and “mountain" as metaphors for the physical challenges we all face. The Climb for ROMP fundraiser is a celebration of mobility that raises funds to provide prosthetic care to underserved amputees and raise awareness for the importance of access to assistive devices. As students studying prosthetics and orthotics, we are excited to join this incredible initiative!

Our "mountain" is to get individuals with all ability levels active on the beach in Chicago. We will be hosting a Beach Olympic Games with a variety of events from relay races to water balloon fights to sand castle building. We hope to raise awareness for the importance of mobility and independence that we hope to one day provide to our future patients. And what better way than to have some competitive fun on the beach!!

Join us September 13th at 5:30pm at Oak Street Beach to compete in the Beach Olympics!

We climb for equitable access to care.

We climb for change.

We climb for ROMP.
